Opened for Slim Thug on August 24th at the Farmer’s Market in OKC.
People would think I have been DJ’ing for many years, but the reality is that it’s only been a little over a year. Maybe it is because I thought the world is supposed to come to an end soon… In my mind, I have not even started what I plan to do in my life. It’s always a good feeling to not know what is next!
The University of Oklahoma recognized Big Jug Doug in their 2011-2012 yearbook. Talk about a big first year in the books!!
Opened for Mt Eden last week at a venue I always grew up going to and watching other artists perform. Being able to play the same stage that Jack White, Bob Dylan, The Smashing Pumpkins, Bassnectar and many, many, MANY more is incredible. Keep grindin’ for God! #G4G
One of my favorite shots of me DJ’ing. Talk about being taken back into time.. I never knew I would perform for a band that I used to listen to back in middle school. I opened for Hellogoodbye at the University of Oklahoma in Norman on the oh so festive Earth day. I could not be more blessed to be where I am and where I am headed. All thanks goes to Him.
I was born in the 90′s punk rock era and grew up during the explosion of something they like to call… dubstep. I did a little mix and mashing of the two genres, including hip hop, on one track to create a chaotic dance tune. This mashup covers a song called “My Own Worst Enemy” by Lit on top of the funky beat of Acetronik’s “Monkey Do This”. Hoodie Allen’s “High Again” is also featured in this mix as he is just now beginning to make a big name for himself. As you can tell in “Monkeys and Aliens”, I was a rascal back in the days. “YEAHS” starts off with Gotye’s hit new song “Somebody I Used To Know” with his catchy lick that you won’t be able to forget. This jam will keep you on your feet dancing when you find yourself moving to the words of Childish Gambinos “Heartbeat”. I am always looking for new beats to experiment with and I found one remixed by A-Trak, which was in the movie Project X. Pump up your kicks and take a listen. Thank you and God Bless!
The Beatles are an influence to musicians of any kind and any genre. A mash up of an alternative rock band called Metric and an unforgettable oldies band, The Beatles transformed into a dubstep and dance remix. My Beatle’s remix of “Eleanor Rigby” describes how people “tremble” to find the meaning of their life.
Big Jug Doug will be opening for the country artist, Hudson Moore, this Thursday, March 8th! The organization sold tickets and t-shirts for the event in order to raise money to build an orphanage in Lusaka, Zambia in honor of a little girl named Sarah. All proceeds go towards the Family Legacy organization for building Sarah’s House. This guy (AKA Big Jug Doug) will be the one getting those Cowgirls dancin’!
